🦒 Why They’re Endangered

The Rothschild’s giraffe is one of the world’s rarest giraffe subspecies. Their population declined significantly due to habitat loss, human settlement, agricultural expansion, and poaching. As forests and grasslands were converted into farmland, giraffes lost much of their natural habitat, leaving small, isolated populations vulnerable to extinction.

The Giraffe Centre, together with the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (AFEW), plays a vital role in protecting the Rothschild’s giraffe.
